Tubal Anastomosis

The first step in the tubal anastomosis procedure is to open the blocked ends of the remaining fallopian tube segments. Following this preparatory step, a flexible stent is inserted through the lumens into the uterine cavity to ensure that the fallopian tube is open from end to end. Once the stent is in place, retention sutures are then applied to secure the tube ends together without damaging the inner or outer layers of the tube wall. Once these microsurgical sutures are in place, the stent is carefully removed and the procedure complete.
