The NC Center for Reproductive Medicine performs anastomosis surgery on an outpatient basis in our state-of-the-art facility. Anastomosis refers to the procedure by which our physicians repair and restore a woman’s fallopian tubes so that she will be able to again become pregnant. The NC Center for Reproductive Medicine performs anastomosis surgery on an outpatient basis in our state-of-the-art facility in Cary, North Carolina.  The microsurgery procedure and our proprietary techniques enable us to reduce recovery time, make the procedure affordable and - best of all - achieve a high pregnancy rate. The actual tubal ligation reversal surgery takes approximately 90 minutes.

The majority of patients will have patent tubes and become pregnant within one year of their anastomosis surgery. The pregnancy rate varies by type of tubal ligation, length and health of the remaining tubal segments, a woman’s age and other factors. Furthermore, tubal reversal enables most women to conceive naturally, without having to take fertility medications.  However, if we begin your tubal reversal procedure and we discover that your tubes are too short or there's no tube remaining on the uterus, which is required for implantation of the embyro, we will stop the surgery at a reduced cost to you.  If you wish, we can apply your remaining balance toward In Vitro Fertilization (IVF).

For our patients coming from out of town, you should expect to spend two days in the Raleigh / Cary area. We will schedule your preoperative consultation on the day prior to your surgery and will request that you stay at a nearby hotel the evening following your surgery so that you will be accessible to our medical staff in the event that postoperative care is required.  Recovery time from the surgery is generally short and most patients are able to return to work or other normal activities within a week to 10 days.

If you do not become pregnant after one year following your tubal reversal procedure at NCCRM, we will give you a $2000.00 discount toward In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) at NCCRM.
